"Holy doctors, St. George and St. Demetrius".
Tempera and gold on wood.
With craquelure, old restorations and missing paint.
Measurements: 40,2 x 29,2 x 2,2 cm.
In this Greek icon are represented two doctor saints that could be identified with the Unmercenary Saints Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian, who carry medicinal bottles. Represented as gold chests, they gleam like fine embossed pieces. In the lower left part we recognize St. George and in the lower right panel is St. Demetrius.
