Alfons Serrahima (1906-1988) was a key part of the renewal of Catalan jewelry and goldsmithing, standing out for his involvement in the whole process of the jewel, from the design to the manufacture of the piece. His style broke with the past when it came to adopting modernity and the avant-garde, replacing the excess of decoration with simpler forms and an austerity that let the material shine by itself. He excelled in both civil and religious jewelry, being a very influential figure as president of the FAD (Fomento de las Artes y del Diseño).
