Filippo Brietti was a French Jesuit, historian and cartographer. He was also librarian of the College of Paris. Several works on geography and chronology have come down to us from him: Parallela geographiae veteris et novae, 1649, 3 volumes in-4, Theatrum geographicum Europae veteris, 1653, Chronicon, ab orbe condito ad annum Christi, 1663 et 1682, 7 volumes in-12 and Philippi Labbe et Philippi Brietti Concordia chronologica, 1670, 5 volumes.
