Francisco Murcia de la Llana was a Spanish philosopher and professor at the University of Alcalá in the early 17th century. He was an important figure in the diffusion of philosophy in early 17th century Spain, through his role as "corrector general" of the books of His Majesty the King of Spain. He did much to popularize scholastic philosophy, especially translating the "Súmulas" of Gaspar Cardillo de Villalpando, and composing a "Compendio de los Metheoros del príncipe de los filósofos griegos y latinos, Aristóteles" (Madrid, 1615). His printed works are very numerous. In 1617 he published a sort of "compendium" of the works of the Jesuit Gabriel Vázquez under the title "Disputationes metaphysicae", evidently with the aim of competing with those of Francisco Suárez.
