Jacques Louis Barthélemy Cormon was a book dealer from 1798 to 1847. He worked specifically in Lyon and later, from 1826, in Paris. He owned his own printing house together with Joseph Blanc with whom he published the portable French-Spanish dictionary, whose purpose was entirely practical. With this work, Jacques Louis Barthélemy Cormon succeeded in bringing into fashion a new type of dictionary, completely manageable, with a reduced format and content.
