DESCRIPTION
Three books on Indian and Islamic painting:
"Pintura islámica e india", collection "Fuentes de la pintura" of Aguilar publishing house.
"La Miniature Indienne", in French.
"Indian painting", in English.
Islamic painting is often characterized by the use of calligraphy, geometry and floral motifs, due to the prohibition of representing living beings in religious art. Indian art, on the other hand, includes a rich tradition of wall paintings and miniatures often depicting human figures and mythological scenes. As for "La Miniature Indienne", it deals with Indian miniature paintings: small-scale, highly detailed works of art dating back to at least the 9th century AD.
