One paspartout is deteriorated.
Measurements: 27 x 30 cm, 69 x 53 cm (frame) each.
Painter, engraver and draftsman, he was trained in the workshops of Jean II Restout and Jacques-Philippe Le Bas. As an engraver he left about 1500 works, including the frontispiece of the Encyclopédie ou Dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers by Denis Diderot and Jean le Rond D'Alembert (1751). He illustrated numerous books: Works of Virgil (1743), Fables of La Fontaine (1755-1759), History of the reign of Louis XV (1753-1770). A complete set of his engravings is preserved in the cabinet of engravings of the National Library of France.
