Adrien-Michel-Hyacinthe Blin de Sainmore was a French poet, playwright and historian of the 18th century. He studied at the collège du Cardinal-Lemoine and devoted his life to literature, history and archival conservation.He wrote héroïdes, poems and épitres, including Mort de l'amiral Bing, Sapho à Phaon, Biblis à Caunus and Épître à Racine, collected in several collections such as l'Élite des poésies fugitives (1769-1773). He also completed theatrical works, such as the tragedy Orphanis (1773), and dramas such as Joachim ou le Triomphe de la piété filiale (1775). Blin de Sainmore produced historical works, such as the Histoire de Russie (1797-1799) and the Essai sur la vie de Jean Rotrou (1805). He held positions in royal archives, was royal censor in 1776, curator at the Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal in 1800, and co-founder of the Société philanthropique.
