El hombre deshabitado, published in 1931 by the publishing house Plutarco in Madrid, is one of the most significant theatrical works of the first stage of Rafael Alberti, an essential figure of the Generation of 1927. Written at a time of full avant-garde effervescence, the play is part of the poetic and experimental theater of the early twentieth century, where the break with traditional dramatic forms becomes the central axis of creation.
The work poses a symbolic and allegorical reflection on the human condition, articulated through characters and situations that transcend the real to enter a metaphysical and existential plane. In it, Alberti explores themes such as dehumanization, the loss of identity and the spiritual emptiness of the modern individual, constructing a scenic universe of strong poetic and visual charge.
