Restoration style cylinder bureau with the upper part formed by cardboard drawers (cartonnier). The Restoration Style is the name of an artistic style, particularly in the decorative arts, which occurred in France during the reigns of Louis XVIII and Charles X (the historical period called Restoration, 1815-1830), and spread throughout continental Europe, simultaneously with the so-called Biedermeier.
