DESCRIPTION

ACHILLE GAMBA (Italy, 1881 - 1941).
Pewter.
Weight: 1822 g.
Measurements: 49 x 25 x 3 cm.
Modernist oval-shaped ornamental tray with incised decoration, of naturalistic inspiration with marine motifs, and water lily leaves on the eaves.
Modernism is characterized as a new, young, free and modern art. The aesthetic that characterizes it is based on inspiration from nature. With a profuse use of elements of natural origin but with a preference for vegetables and rounded shapes of organic type, intertwined with the main motif. As in this lot where the water lily leaf, a typical decorative element of the Art Nouveau movement, intertwines with the main marine motif.
