DESCRIPTION
ACHILLE GAMBA (Italy, 1881 - 1941).
Pair of modernist trays, ca. 1900.
Pewter.
Measurements: 23 x 21 and 21 x 12 cm.
Beautiful pair of modernist trays made of pewter, with an open, sinuous and organic-looking profile, typically modernist, and relief decoration that includes the figures of nymphs or ladies wrapped by flowers and water lily leaves.
Modernism is characterized as a new, young, free and modern art. The aesthetic that characterizes it is based on inspiration from nature. With a profuse use of elements of natural origin but with a preference for vegetables and rounded shapes of organic type, intertwined with the main motif.
