DESCRIPTION
Pair of candlesticks Napoleon III, second half of the nineteenth century.
Gilded bronze and marble.
It has slight flaws in the base.
Measurements: 62 x 27 x 27 cm.
Pair of Napoleon III period candlesticks, made entirely in gilded bronze, except for the marbled marble base which, in turn, sits on a bronze base. The refined and historicist style of the design is characteristic of the Second Empire, with a combination of rococo and classicist solutions. Thus, three rounded panthers surround the foot, from which a fluted stem starts, decorated with Greek theater masks, after which the candlesticks are completed with two vases ornamented with bunches of grapes, from whose mouths sprout slender stems.
