A painter of precocious talent, Peter Klasen studied at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1956 to 1959, and in the early 1960s he settled in Paris, where he soon became one of the most recognized members of the New Figuration movement. He developed a personal artistic language, exploring and reinterpreting the symbols of our urban environment and popular culture. His work is currently represented in major international museums, as well as in prominent galleries in Germany, Italy, France, the United States, Spain, and other countries.
