It will be in 1999 when Royo launches into the field of illustration, collaborating with Norma Editorial, a Spanish company dedicated to publishing comics, whose early years were spent in the promotion of covers for novels, films and even humor pages. Throughout his career as an illustrator, Royo has worked with artists such as Antonio Altarriba, initiating a fruitful collaboration, creating series of graphic works and illustrations that were also published in magazines such as "1984", "Comix Internacional", "Rambla" and "El Víbora", even reaching the American market. With this abundant production, Royo will become a mass phenomenon, making different books such as Women, Malfic, Secrets, III Millennium, Dreams, The Prohibited Books trilogy, Evolution, Trilogy Conception I, Visions, Fantastic Art, etc.. To these titles it is necessary to add the publication of series of cards for collectors, portfolios, posters and even tarot cards. The popularity of his work is due to the originality, the content and the strength of his drawings, which have been able to revolutionize the world of illustration to a great extent.
