Measurements: 137 x 122 cm.
Aycock studied at Douglass College in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he earned a bachelor's degree in art in 1968. He later moved to New York and earned a master's degree in 1971 at Hunter College. There he received classes from the sculptor and conceptual artist Robert Morris. In the early 1980s, Aycock married artist Dennis Oppenheim. Aycock's recent work takes the form of large-scale sculptures based on natural forms, cybernetics, physics and other postmodern issues, increasingly using high-tech materials to create complex sculptures in public space. Aycock's works are in the collections of MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum; Whitney Museum of American Art; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the National Gallery, the Louis Vuitton Foundation and in Italy at Fattoria di Celle-Collezione Gori. Aycock has also exhibited at the Venice Biennale, Documenta 6 and 8 in Kassel, Germany and the Whitney Biennial.
