Painter and sculptor member of the so-called school of Cuenca, Gustavo Torner was formed in a self-taught way, and in 1956 he begins to work in a purely abstract language, within the informalist current. In addition to the fine arts, he has worked in diverse fields such as scenography, and has also collaborated with the design of significant spaces such as some rooms of the Prado Museum or the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art in Cuenca. He is currently represented in this museum, as well as in the Patio Herreriano in Valladolid, the MNCARS, the Municipal de Arte Contemporáneo in Madrid and other collections, both public and private.
