After ANTON VAN DYCK (Antwerp, 1599 - London, 1641) and REMBRANDT HARMENSZOON VAN RIJN (Leiden, 1606 - Amsterdam, 1669); 18th-19th century.
"Pieter Brueghel the Younger" and "The Persian."
Etchings on paper (x2).
Measurements: 25 x 16 cm; 16 x 13 cm.
Set of two etchings on paper. One of them shows the portrait of Pieter Brueghel the Younger. Made by Anton van Dyck in the early seventeenth century, whose original is in the Frick collection. The other etching follows a work by Rembrandt van Rijn entitled "The Persian" (1632). "The Persian" is an example of Rembrandt's ability to depict opulence and melancholy in a single work.
