In this piece "Nus. Cent photographies originales de Laryew", brings together one hundred original heliogravures made by the photographer Stanis?aw Julian Ignacy Ostroróg, who signed his works under the pseudonym Laryew and was also known in the Parisian art world as Lucien Waléry. Published in Paris by A. Calavas around 1923, the set constitutes one of the most painstaking editorial projects in nude photography in the first half of the 20th century.
The images, printed in heliogravure with great tonal quality, stand out for the plastic elegance of Laryew's compositions, characterized by a refined use of light and an almost sculptural sense of the female body. His approach combines the language of the academic nude with the modern sensibility of interwar Paris, in an exercise that underscores both the aesthetics and the photographic technique of the period.
