DESCRIPTION
FERNAND LEGER (France, 1881 - 1955).
"Kunst Haus Zurich, 1957.
Silkscreen.
In good condition.
Measurements: 128,5 x 90 cm.
Poster realized on the occasion of the exhibition dedicated to Fernand Léger in the Kunsthaus Zürich, one of the most relevant museum institutions in Europe for modern art. The work fully reflects the plastic language developed by Léger in his final stage, characterized by formal simplification, the monumentality of the human figure and a clear will of popular accessibility.
This poster is of considerable historical and artistic interest, both for its institutional character and for its direct relationship with the international dissemination of Léger's work after his death. Museum exhibition posters made from models by the artist and destined for major European institutions are particularly appreciated in the modern graphic art market.
Fernand Léger was one of the fundamental figures of the European avant-garde and a key protagonist of Cubism and modern art in the 20th century. His work is preserved in the collections of the Musée National d'Art Moderne - Centre Pompidou and the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, as well as in international institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Tate in London and the Kunsthaus Zürich itself. His visual language, based on the synthesis of figure, color and the modern world, exerted a decisive influence on the development of 20th century art.
