Baroque painting of devotional theme, representing Christ as "Salvator Mundi", an iconography that represents the Christological concept of Jesus Christ as universal savior, in relation to his role as judge in the Final Judgment and his character of Redeemer. It is characterized by Christ raising his right hand as a sign of blessing, while holding an orb with his left hand. The author of the painting follows Murillo's models, as can be appreciated by the sweetness of the features, the soft shift of the warm shades and the iconographic treatment of the theme.
