The work in tender represents St. John of Capistrano, a Neapolitan Franciscan friar who was noted for his itinerant preaching throughout almost all of Europe, especially in the East, which earned him the title of "Apostle of Bohemia". He was canonized by Pope Alexander VIII in 1690.
