This 19th century painting reproduces the central composition of the famous Baglioni Altarpiece, one of the most influential works of Raphael's Florentine period (ca. 1507). The work maintains the rhythmic structure and chromatic balance of the original, highlighting the serenity of Christ's body and the dialogue of gestures between the disciples holding him, elements that made this composition a recurring model in academies and private collections of the 19th century.
