The composition fully reflects the 18th-century taste for idealized settings, where nature becomes a space of harmony and refinement. In the foreground, a young couple takes center stage in a romantic scene, while the landscape unfolds with breadth and depth through a carefully rendered atmospheric perspective. The presence of a waterfall on the left side of the composition constitutes the work’s fundamental iconographic element, unequivocally identifying the allegorical theme, which is further emphasized by a cartouche. The pictorial quality is evident in the delicacy of the drawing and in the sensitivity with which the artist renders both the figures and their surroundings.
