This painting of baroque heritage shows us an opulent bouquet of flowers, where the diversity of species, tulips and colors unfolds in an exuberant and harmonious composition. The open corollas, voluptuous and sensual, seem to palpitate under a contrasting light that highlights their qualities. The chromatic palette is rich in intense reds, greens and vibrant yellows. Each flower seems to be captured in its moment of maximum splendor. The black background accentuates the theatricality of the scene, a characteristic resource of the Baroque, which enhances the luminosity and volume of the petals, giving the composition a dramatic depth. This painting is part of the Baroque genre of floral still life, a pictorial tradition that reached its peak in the seventeenth century and continued strongly in the eighteenth century, especially in Dutch and Flemish painting with masters such as Jan van Huysum or Rachel Ruysch.
