Pair of oval portraits that represent in both cases a young lady inscribed in a landscape. In both works we can appreciate that new sensibility that represents the rococo, concerned with formal beauty, sweetness, grace and elegance, aspects that tend to be embodied in the figure of the woman. Also with the rococo the formats of the painting change; they become smaller, in accordance with the new conception of the space of the palaces; the great halls of representation are replaced by small private rooms, which provide more intimate atmospheres.
In the works can be seen the imprint of the great French masters of the eighteenth century such as François Boucher (Paris, 1703-1770). An influence that is evident in both works in the importance of drawing, very precise, mainly in the faces but also in the construction of space, in the folds of the fabrics, etc.. These are beautiful and delicate faces, very much in the classical style, which have as a reference the feminine ideal of the great classicists of the past, especially Correggio, one of the great influences of the French school of the eighteenth century. These painters learned from him the faces of serene beauty and the elegant and graceful attitudes.
