Artist tremendously influenced by the Mexican muralism, with much probability we are in front of an artist belonging to the group of Mexican intellectuals who were part of the Mexican Revolution, the most important political and social event of the XX century, who gave rise to the muralism movement. Thus, we find ourselves in front of a tremendously expressive work starring a group of characters celebrating the Day of the Dead, the traditional Mexican celebration par excellence. Like this work, muralism sought to consolidate the social ideals created during the revolution, highlighting nationalism within its art. Céspedes developed a work characteristic of the Mexican school, with synthesized figures, although tremendously expressive, in which the different planes are superimposed, giving depth to the scene.
