Painter, engraver, muralist and stained glass designer, Fornells Plà trained in Paris, Florence and the United States. He made his solo debut in 1949, and in 1967 he presented a large anthological exhibition at the Tinell in Barcelona. He was one of the founders of the Salón de Octubre in Barcelona, and produced numerous murals and stained-glass windows for the Monastery of Montserrat in the late 1950s and early 1960s. During the 1980s he developed an innovative approach consisting of a synthesis of sculpture, mobile and stained glass, examples of which can be seen in Badalona, Manresa and Girona. He is represented at MACBA, as well as in several important private collections.
