An elegant young woman in a yellow dress and with short hair "a la" Louise Brooks sings and bangs on the piano while the old people take a placid nap. The waiter in a frock coat also seems to have fallen asleep, standing up. With caustic humor and compositional daring, the painter structures the scene using a synthetic and expressive stroke, akin to the Art Deco trend. The forms tend to a geometrizing essentialism, and the color is applied in flat areas, contrasting bright chromaticism.
