A pioneer of Catalan Informalism, Amelia Riera has worked in drawing, painting and engraving. In 1964 she leaves this movement with the series;Ex-votoS; where she reflects a turn without return towards an intimate art full of symbolism and where death is read between the lines. He is a founding member of the Ciclo de Arte de Hoy in 1962. His particular world has been shown in exhibitions all over Europe (Stockholm, Toulouse, Paris, Milan, Berlin) and America (Buenos Aires).
A major work of his artistic career is the orthopedic-electric chair "Le llevaron engañado" (1971) currently located in the Contemporary Art Space Can Mario de Palafurgell (Girona). Also noteworthy is "marginalized", 3 Points Gallery in Barcelona (1975); "Cube. 4 proposals ", Palau Robert
of Barcelona (1995); "Amelia's Prisons" Art Museum of Girona (2007).
