Ortuño arrived in Valencia at the age of ten and began painting at a very young age. Soon he came in contact with the Círculo de Bellas Artes and perfected his technique. A contemporary of Bronchú in Godella, Mir, Segrelles or Berenguer, he belongs to a generation of painters who started from impressionism to find their own style. Thus, he let himself be "duped" by the light of the Mediterranean and, although he had a grayer period, in his maturity, color is the main protagonist.
