Oriol Vilapuig began his studies at the Escola d'Art i Disseny Eina (Barcelona), although he left this institution to continue his education at the University of Barcelona, where he studied Fine Arts. In 1986 he held his first exhibition at the Academia de Bellas Artes de Sabadell. Years later he moved to Rome, where he was awarded a scholarship by the Government of Catalonia. Today his work is represented in numerous public and private art collections, such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), the Museo de Bellas Artes de Álava, the Testimoni collection of La Caixa, the Banco de Sabadell collection, the collection of the University of Valencia and the Museo de Arte de Sabadell.
