Elpidio Guerra, better known as "Mirito" was born in Matanzas (Cuba) and belongs to the group of the so-called primitive painters of this country. In this piece he offers us a rural scene, where a peasant carries boards on the back of his donkeys. The chromatic range used, based on pinks and blues, harmonizes and evokes the early stages of Picasso's work. His work is currently preserved in institutions such as the National Museum of Fine Arts of Cuba.
