Landscape painter born in Sabadell, Joan Maurí developed his career in his native city, becoming part of the Academy of Fine Arts of this locality, although he also showed his work in Barcelona. In fact, he participated in the competition "Montserrat vist pels pintors catalans" organized by the Artistic Circle of Sant Lluc in Barcelona between 1931 and 1932.
