Outstanding watercolorist, Ceferino Olivé specialized in landscapes, both natural, urban and rural. He began his training with the decorator painter Antoni Fuster, who taught him the watercolor technique. He then attended courses at the Municipal School of Drawing in Reus, directed by Tomás Bregada. In 1925 he settled in Barcelona, where he worked as a painter, decorator and set designer, while he continued his training as a disciple of Félix Mestres at La Lonja in Barcelona. In 1931 he joined the Agrupación de Acuarelistas de Cataluña, proposing to revitalize this discipline. He participated in collective exhibitions and presented himself alone, in 1940, in the Pictòria room in Barcelona. He was awarded the Fortuny Medal, the National Watercolor Prize and the first medal at the London International Salon and the National Railway Exhibition. His style emphasizes atmospheric effects and, in particular, his views of the surroundings of Vic, where he set up his studio. He is represented in Spanish collections and in various collections in Biarritz, Geneva, New York, London and Moscow, among other cities.
