Josep Santilari, is part of a generation of artists who, from Catalonia, have cultivated a painting of deep figurative sensibility and refined technique. From his early years he showed a natural inclination towards drawing and the meticulous observation of reality, a trait that would later become one of the hallmarks of his work. Formed in a context of artistic renewal in the Spain of the transition, Josep Santilari developed a visual language that combines academic rigor with a subtle poetic introspection.
His work focuses on the exploration of portraiture, landscape and the human figure, approached with a serene and restrained gaze that seeks to capture the essence of the subject beyond its appearance.
