Flora Macedonski's work is characterized by an expressive figuration of strong emotional and symbolic intensity, as we appreciate in this drawing.
She was born into a family of outstanding creators. Daughter of the Romanian post-impressionist painter Alexis Macedonski and the painter Florena Laura Cantemir, she showed exceptional precocity, holding her first individual exhibition in 1945.
During the 1950s he exhibited regularly in Palma de Mallorca. In this period he received important commissions from the National Institute of Colonization, making triptychs and large religious ensembles for newly built churches in Extremadura and Aragon, including the altarpieces of El Sabinar (1962), Lácara and Brovales, highly valued for their chromatic luminosity and compositional dynamism.
