The composition transmits a sensation of calm and silence, capturing an everyday moment linked to the marine life and the relationship between man and the natural landscape. The scene is structured horizontally, favoring a wide view of the space and allowing the viewer to visually scan the surface of the water, the boats and the distant horizon. This landscape format reinforces the idea of spaciousness and stability, fundamental elements in seascape painting.
The boats appear beached or stopped on shallow waters, harmoniously integrated into the environment. More than individual protagonists, the boats function as compositional elements that organize the space and provide visual balance. The work thus evokes the traditional fishing activity and the simple life of Spanish coastal areas.
The painting maintains links with 20th century Spanish landscape painting, especially with those currents interested in capturing natural light and in the poetic representation of the everyday environment.
