Carlos Boado was a painter with a career spanning more than five decades. He worked primarily in oil, watercolor, and drawing, specializing in seascapes of the Galician coast, urban landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. Although he was born in Asturias, he spent part of his youth between Lugo and Muxía, which profoundly shaped his sensitivity toward the Galician landscape—one of the central themes of his body of work. In the early 1950s, he worked as a draftsman and drawing instructor at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Lugo, and later settled in Madrid, from where he exhibited extensively in Spain and Portugal. In 1977, the art critic Ramón Faraldo dedicated a volume to him as part of the *Contemporary Spanish Artists* series, a recognition that cemented his prestige. His painting is characterized by solid draftsmanship, careful chromatic harmony, and a lyrical and serene interpretation of the landscape, particularly the Galician coastline.
