MANUEL FERNÁNDEZ LUQUE (Seville, 1919 – Valencia, 2005).

A member of the Spanish Expressionist movement, Luque developed a style characterized by flat brushstrokes, classical in composition and modern in technique. He studied at the universities of Santiago and Madrid, earning a doctorate in Pharmacy, and received his artistic training at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid. Throughout his career, he has held numerous exhibitions, most notably those held in galleries in New York, Chicago, Paris, Montpellier, Madrid, and Valencia, as well as at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid. He has also participated in art competitions, winning a watercolor prize in Madrid, a medal at the Valencia Spring Salon, and a medal at the Armed Forces Exhibition in Madrid. His work is currently represented in the Army Museum in Madrid and the Montpellier Museum in France, as well as in numerous private collections.
