DESCRIPTION
BEGOÑA MONTALBÁN PEREZ (Bilbao, 1965).
"Stances (1A)".
Duratrans in light box.
With Alejandro Sales gallery label on the back.
Measurements: 65 x 85 cm.
Begoña Montalbán's works revolve around the body, pain, illness and therapeutic action, especially of women.
Begoña Montalbán studied at the Massana School in Barcelona between 1986 and 1991, specializing in Sculpture and Contemporary Image Processes. She later completed her studies at the Quam workshop of Joan Durán, in Barcelona, and at the Centre de Cultura de Dones Francesca Bonmaison. He began his exhibition career in 1991, at the Centre d'Art Alexandre Cirici, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, and has also exhibited in other centers in Barcelona, Mallorca, Malaga, Gijon, as well as in international centers such as Frankfurt, Bogota, Basel, New York, and others. Her work has the female figure as the undisputed protagonist, often treated as mannequins that suggest the trivialization and objectification of the female image in the contemporary world.
