In his pictorial work, Wehmer uses images from his everyday environment, borrowed from today's consumer society, which he transfers to industrial media such as methacrylate or aluminum. He generates and works the images on the computer, but when painting he uses the long process of the traditional oil painting technique, with an almost hyperrealistic result. In this way he recreates his daily universe through painting, adding his personal vision to it. The result is oil paintings with an absolutely smooth and satin surface, similar to that of magazine covers. Ice cream balls, Japanese advertisements, plastics and vinyl, airplane food and the most glittering images of today's synthetic life make up the references that Susanne Wehmer translates into paint. A surrendered declaration of love to dream worlds through the internet and modernly exotic icons. You will have to see to believe." (Joaquín Peña-Toro).
