DESCRIPTION
AZIYADÉ RUIZ VALLEJO (Camagüey, 1972).
Untitled, 2004.
Mixed media on cardboard.
Signed and dated in the lower left corner.
Measurements: 21,5 x 31 cm.
The Cuban literary critic and researcher Olga García affirms of Aziyadé "The woman in Aziyadé Ruiz is always a torn figure and moved by a very complex inner world. If the artist creates a discourse around women, it is that of infinite sadness".
Aziyadé was trained at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) specializing in engraving, in Havana. He has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally (Croatia, Zurich, Panama, Bogota, etc). His works are part of outstanding public and private collections at international level. Among them are the José Martí National Library in Havana, Cuba; the Ignacio Agramonte Museum in Camagüey, Cuba; the Lausin Blazco Gallery in Zaragoza, Spain; the Nina Menocal Gallery in Mexico City, Mexico; the Havana Galerie in Zurich, Switzerland; and the City Historian's Collection in Havana, Cuba.
