Joaquim Falcó begins his artistic formation in the academy of the painter Estanislao Vilajosana, outstanding representative of the Catalan postimpressionism and specialized in landscape painting. Under his tutelage, Falcó acquired a solid technical base and an early appreciation for color and composition. He later broadened his training at the Círculo Artístico de Manresa, a key space in his creative development, where he came into contact with other contemporary plastic languages and established himself as an emerging artist on the Catalan scene.
His debut in solo exhibitions took place in 1979, and during the first years of the 1980s his work underwent a decisive evolution towards abstraction, adopting a freer, gestural and chromatically expressive language, which would mark a constant in his later career. In 1989 he held his first exhibition in Italy, a country that would have a notable influence on his production, both for its artistic richness and the intensity of its Mediterranean light. Since then, Falcó alternates seasons of work between Spain and Italy, enriching his style from this double influence.
Throughout his career he has held numerous solo exhibitions in Spain, France, Italy, the United States, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, establishing himself as an artist with international projection. In 2003 he was invited as a featured artist to the Osaka International Fair (Japan), a milestone that confirms the global reach of his work. In addition, he has participated in important group exhibitions in various countries in Europe, the United States and Canada, which places him in a consolidated international art circuit.
Falcó's work, characterized by his constant formal exploration, his vigorous use of color and his ability to integrate elements of tradition and modernity, has made him a recognized figure in Spanish contemporary art.
