Snezhana Botenovskaya, known artistically as Nia, is a visual artist born in Belarus and based in Barcelona since 2020. Always fascinated by human faces, her practice focuses on portraiture as a space for intimate exploration: each work is an immersion in the search for those subtle and unrepeatable features that make each person unique. Self-taught, she found in collage her natural language in 2013, when she discovered that the sum of small fragments -papers of different shapes, colors and textures- could build a lively and expressive image. In her compositions, detail becomes emotion and the process becomes an almost meditative experience, where identity emerges without artifice, piece by piece.
