Marcela Jardón is an Argentine visual artist whose work is situated in a territory of contemplation, memory and poetic reflection. The painting on offer, built from glazes, chromatic layers and a palette dominated by greens and soft earths, is representative of her language: a space suspended between landscape and abstraction, where time seems to be diluted and the image is offered as a sensory experience rather than as a literal representation. Her work proposes a slow, introspective gaze that invites us to inhabit the image and discover layers of meaning, traces and silences.
With a degree in Visual Arts and a National Professor of Visual Arts from the National School of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón in Buenos Aires, Jardón has developed a solid and diverse international career. Her works have been exhibited and published in America, Europe and Asia, in institutions and centers of reference such as the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona, the Centro de Arte Santa Mónica, the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona, the University of Valencia, the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, the Sydney Opera House, the Kanazawa Art Center Citizen (Japan), the Museo Universidad de Alicante, the Museo La Neomudéjar de Madrid and the Museo de Aveiro (Portugal), among others. He has also participated in international fairs such as Spectrum Fair Miami (2018) and LA Art Show (2019).
His work is part of important public and private collections in countries such as Argentina, Spain, Canada, United States, Japan, Australia, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and the Netherlands. His presence in the Catalog of the Fine Arts Department of the National Library of Spain, the Art Fund of the University of Valencia, the Pinacoteca Universitaria of the University of Panama, and collections linked to the Rockefeller Foundation and the University of the West of England stand out.
