Doctor in Fine Arts by the Complutense University of Madrid (1988), Andrés Castellanos extended his formation making copies of the great masters in the Museum of the Prado. He has won awards such as the First National Drawing Prize Antonio del Rincón, the Penagos Drawing Prize of the Mapfre Foundation and the one of the Diputación de Guadalajara (2010), and has made portraits of personalities such as King Juan Carlos I or the ministers Jesús Posada, José María Eguiagaray and Joan Lerma. He has also been a juror in various competitions, and has taken a portrait course at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid. He is currently represented in collections, ministries and museums, both in Spain and abroad.
