Joan Pol is a visual artist whose practice is situated between modern expressionism and lyrical abstraction, articulating a post-organic symbolic language focused on matter, silence and inner resonance. His work proposes spaces of contemplation where the pictorial gesture acts as a form of perceptive purification.
His training and early research took place at Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi, India), an experience that marked his understanding of vibration, rhythm and silence as the foundations of the creative process. These influences dialogue with European gestural and material traditions, giving rise to a painting of strong sensory and symbolic density, structured from a palette of yin-yang polarity, understood as active tension between opposites, unstable balance and continuous transformation.
He has participated in group exhibitions since 2001, in contexts such as the Pollença Biennial, the Venice Biennial, FIAC (Paris, 2021) and the Lisbon Art Fair (2024). Since 2021 he has presented solo exhibitions, including La Mar de Textures (Ca'n Torró Gallery, 2023). In 2024 he held an exhibition at Villa Dalia, in collaboration with Evita Medina and internationally renowned artists such as Jacob Vilató, Robert Hilmersson, Dennis Klapschus and Nanon Morsink. In 2025 his work was presented in the United Arab Emirates, expanding his international projection.
His work is part of private collections in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Taiwan and other international contexts.
