An artist based in Barcelona, Joan Ill has been awarded first prize in the International Pictorial Research Contest of Salou (2000), and finalist of the Young Painting Prize of Barcellona (1981), the Honda (2005) and the Vilacasasas Foundation (2005). He has held solo exhibitions in leading galleries in Spain and other countries, highlighting the Espace Niepce in Paris (1993) and the Alan Lawrence Gallery in New York (1991). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Spain, Italy, France, the United States and other countries. He is currently represented in the La Caixa Foundation of Barcelona, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vilanova i la Geltrú, the City Hall of the 13th Arrondissement of Paris, the Museum of Art4 and History of Reus, the Fund of Contemporary Art of the City Hall of Salou and in various private collections in Europe, the United States and Venezuela.
