This work presents a scene of traditional Chinese architecture on the banks of a river, where a group of houses of wood and stone are grouped in an organic way following the course of the water and the mountainous relief of the background. The composition emphasizes depth through the superimposition of roofs, alleys and structures raised on stilts, while the warm light bathing the facades suggests a serene and nostalgic atmosphere.
In terms of style, the work combines traits of contemporary realism with a sensibility close to traditional Chinese landscape painting: attention to architectural detail, earthy tones and a misty atmosphere that integrates landscape and architecture. Within the oriental school, it can be placed in a contemporary line influenced by Chinese landscape painting (shan shui), but reinterpreted with modern pictorial techniques that seek to recreate an idealized historical environment rather than document a specific place.
